素心如简,岚起山间。

Simple heart, simple truth. The mountain mist rises between peaks.

SURAN STUDIO was born from a quiet observation: the most meaningful rituals are the simplest ones. A stick of incense. A flame. A breath. Three minutes of stillness in a world that never stops moving.

We work with artisans across China — in Jingdezhen, in Dehua, in the brass workshops of Guangdong — to create incense burners that honor centuries of craftsmanship while speaking to the contemporary home. Each piece is a collaboration between past and present, between the hands that shape it and the space it will inhabit.

The hand, the material, the flame.

We design each burner with material first. Bronze holds heat differently than concrete. Cast iron breathes differently than porcelain. These are not decorative decisions — they are functional ones, made in conversation with artisans who have worked their material for decades.

Every SURAN piece carries the marks of its making. Slight variations in patina, in texture, in weight. We do not correct these. They are the signature of the hand.

  • Artisanship

Every piece is made by hand, in small batches, by craftspeople who have inherited their skills across generations.

  • Materials

We use only natural materials — bronze, concrete, cast iron, porcelain. Nothing synthetic. Nothing that offgases.

  • Stillness

Our designs are quiet on purpose. They recede into the background so the ritual can take center stage.
