- Light the top of the cone and let it burn for a few seconds until the tip is glowing, then gently blow out the flame.
- Wait a minute or two. The waterfall effect builds as the cone settles.
- A single backflow cone burns for roughly 15–25 minutes.
Common Mistakes
- Using regular cones. They have no channel, so the smoke just rises. You must use backflow cones.
- Drafty rooms. Smoke goes where air goes. Close the windows.
- Damp or low-quality cones. They smolder weakly and produce thin, patchy smoke. Store cones in a dry container.
